Creating a Blog!

So us techno-phobes at The Great Escape are dragging ourselves (kicking and screaming I might add) into this century and creating a blog! Why you ask? So we can tell you everything you need to know about Morzine, our Chalets and apartments and what we and our guests have been up to!

October is a quiet month in Morzine but we at The Great Escape in Morzine have been keeping ourselves busy. We have acquired 2 brand new self catered apartments located right in the center of Morzine - the Slalom 15 and Slalom 35 - and are pleased to see many of our guests from previous seasons returning to our catered Chalet la Beziere and Alpine Refuge for this coming winter season.

We have also been recruiting and are pleased to have all our staff. We welcome back again for their third season with us - James and Kate - the 'mad about everything Australian couple' who run our catered Chalet la Beziere. We have also recruited James' brother, Michael, and his girlfriend Corinne to run the Alpine Refuge. Last but not least we have the one and only Brit in our team (apart from us), Nick Jones. Nick will be the ski host and driver. Darren knows Nick through his Army days so they go back a bit.

Life has been busy in the Woodley household too with Jack (our 3 year old) starting school (Sam found this harder than him), Sam continually running round the lake and Darren circumnavigating the island of Corsica on his road bike with 3 mates - 600kms in 5 days! Great views and tired legs. Ended the trip in our apartment in Bonifacio.

Looking ahead - can't wait for the season. We have already had snow and it is getting colder each day. The beautiful red and yellow of autumn are disappearing and the mountains are preparing themselves for the white stuff. Off now to light the fire....
